SG&S is proud to announce the following events: SG&S is pleased to support Yellowstone's 10th Anniversary "Diamond Gala" on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Orange County Pavillion. Yellowstone, Women's Recovery, has a long history of helping drug-addicted women through 12 step recovery. They give any woman a bed for the night, and that one night can extend to their 90-day program through donations. Over 5000 women have come through their doors in the last 10 years. The purpose of this event is to raise money for on-going scholarships for these women. Isaac R. Zfaty, associate at SG&S, has been involved in assisting this organization for the past 4 years.

Ocean Institute Adopt-a-Class Event
Spending half a day with curious Elementary School students on the R/V Sea Explorer is an Annual Event that SG&S sponsors and looks forward to each year. The kids are delighted learning about sea creatures and cruising on a research vessel off of the coast of Dana Point. For many of these children this is their first experience out on the ocean. The attorneys and staff in our office take the morning off and led by Bill Steel, Partner of SG&S and Chair of the Ocean Institute's Board of Directors, spend 4 hours with these young explorers sharing their adventures in experiencing the ocean and its amazing inhabitants. The goal is to give these children an opportunity to learn about marine life and the environmental to protect and care for our oceans and the variety of creatures that live there. The thank you letters from the children after the event speak volumes. To quote some of their experiences: "I like the ocean water splashing up on me." "I learned there are two kinds of plankton; zooplankton and phytoplankton." "I liked the Peterson Grab because the sea mud touched the ocean floor and I saw a sea worm!" "My favorite part was watching the dolphins and sea lions. It was the best thing ever!" This year's Adopt a Class event was held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007.
