Jennifer Needs is an associate at
SG&S.
She was born in Brookings, South Dakota and grew up in the Midwest. She attended the
University of Kansas as a National Merit Scholar and received her Bachelor of Arts
degrees with honors and distinction in English and Spanish. During college, she studied
abroad at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Spain and received a certificate
in Spanish language and culture. Ms. Needs attended law school at the University of Texas
at Austin. While in law school, she served on three volumes of the Texas International
Law Journal, acting as Article and Notes Editor of Volume 36 and Chief Article and Notes
Editor of Volume 37. She also worked as a research assistant to a European Supreme Court
Justice and participated in moot court.
Ms. Needs is a business litigator. Her practice emphasizes collection and post-judgment
enforcement. It includes contract disputes, landlord-tenant issues, outstanding accounts
and judgments, estate litigation, and adversarial bankruptcy. She has extensive experience
in all phases of litigation in courts throughout the State of California. She is admitted to the
State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
